Description: Our current “fake news” era complicates writing studies’ long-standing commitment to teaching research and critical thinking. Speakers draw on media studies, quantitative literacy research, journalistic practice, the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy, and digital rhetoric to present theoretical and pedagogical approaches to locating, evaluating, using, and reflecting on information in the writing classroom.
