Bio

Samuel Pizelo is a PhD student at the University of California, Davis, where he researches the intersection between Science and Technology Studies and Game Studies. Beginning with a talk on "Techno-Economic Games" at the Theater, Performance, Philosophy conference at Paris-Sorbonne in 2014, he has been researching the ways in which the rhetoric of games abuts science fiction narratives and contemporary discourses of ethics. Samuel is continuing this line of work with his research project on the material history of anti-colonial play in South Korea, which is also the subject of the undergraduate research course he taught in Fall of 2018.
