Michelle Brittan Rosado is a poet and PhD candidate in literature and creative writing at the University of Southern California. Her dissertation titled “The Pantoum across the Pacific: The Circumnavigation of a Poetic Form” traces the history of the form out of Southeast Asia to Europe during colonialism and to the United States in the twentieth century. She is also the author of Why Can’t It Be Tenderness, a collection of poems set in California and Malaysian Borneo (University of Wisconsin Press, 2018).
