I wear several hats at UConn, including writing project director and assistant coordinator of our early college experience program, and I hold faculty positions in both English and Teacher Education.I taught high school for 12 years and was President of the Nathaniel Hawthorne Society.I review Teacher Education programs for CAEP and am a founding member of the K-16 Alliances of the MLA.I'm proud to have won a couple of teaching awards and to have found the time within administration to publish a book on the major works of Nathaniel Hawthorne.One of my most recent publications on teaching reading to honors STEM majors was included in Deep Reading, which just won an award from CCCC for Oustanding Edited Collection.I have a co-authored article coming out in WPA on outreach and secondary school writing centers.I blog on education at jasoncourtmanche.blogspot.com.My wife is a poet, high school Spanish and Italian teacher, and adjunct professor of English for ELL students.We have two twice-exceptional children who keep us on our toes.Our son is a talented writer and artist with ASD and our daughter is a talented singer with micromyalgia.Both are bilingual thanks to my wife.
