3:00 PM–6:00 PM Thursday, Jan 3, 2019 (US - Central)

Hyatt Regency - Columbus KL

Session Information

Description: A River Called Titas attempts to answer the crucial question regarding textual transactions: can one open up the many worlds beyond Eurocentric area studies inaugurated by great works outside the European tradition? Composed by the Indian filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak entirely in Bangladeshi creole, the film attempts to represent the world of female agency within a sexually violent rural subalternity just after the establishment of Bangladesh.
