Description: Participants discuss the impact of technological innovation on Chinese imagination from the seventeenth to the early twentieth century. This roundtable highlights Ming-Qing China’s fascination with technology and at the same time looks into how technological breakthroughs changed modes of knowledge production and shaped people’s imagination about China and the world.
