Session Information
Description: Panelists explore modes of resistance to the gendered stratification of language and literature PhDs. Language and literature workplaces, where women have been over half of the PhDs for twenty years, were among the first to disprove pipeline theory. We discuss ways to identify and resist “feminization” of the workforce, in which professional activities, particularly teaching and service, morph into depreciated forms of caregiving.
