021: New Diasporas

12:00 PM–1:15 PM Thursday, Jan 3, 2019 (US - Central)

Sheraton Grand - Goldcoast

Session Information

Description: Recent African migrations to the United States prompt a revision of conventional notions of diaspora based on the frame of Atlantic slavery. Panelists work toward such revision by bringing together diverse reflections on contemporary African diasporas and how they relate to race, migration, postcoloniality, the Global South, and the Black Atlantic.
