Description: The year 1492 marks the beginning of the colonial period in Latin America, yet the end is not clearly marked. What exactly is colonial, especially when asymmetrical power relationships exist in every society? Participants suggest possible responses regarding the appropriate concepts and ideas to address the specificity of the colonial in Latin America, as well as the consequences of such understandings for the field and research.
